WordPress Developer in Bristol
I’ve been developing WordPress sites in Bristol for over 15 years. I first moved here as a student studying Computer Science and have been here ever since! I began my web development career as a Flash developer working for a maths games company. This was short lived, but led me to a role as Flash and MODx developer in a small digital agency on the Clifton Triangle. I cut my teeth there for a few years then turned to freelance.
Freelance since 2010
Being freelance has given the opportunity to work with all sorts of clients all over the world in all sorts of sectors, from charities, to tech startups to the music industry. It’s given a real sense of independence and set of tools that not all in house developers have. The ability to scope, accurately predict time scales, hit deadlines, juggle multiple projects and prioritise to name a few. On top of this it’s made me work with lots of different types of people and understand the importance of speaking like a human and communicating well.
WordPress as my main CMS
My use of WordPress started gradually, just because it was the most in demand CMS, but eventually I grew to really like it.
It’s my CMS of choice because of the ease of use for the end user and because it’s a blank slate for web development. The only real constraints it puts on you as a developer is the URL structure. Other than this I’m free to write the markup and code that I want, which is really important. Not all CMSs are this unrestrictive.
Because of this WordPress development has become my bread and butter and my job title over the years has shifted from front-end developer and creative developer to include WordPress developer too.
One man WordPress agency in Bristol
I work out of Temple 1852 right next to temple meads. I love living and working in a city where everything is a 25 minute bike ride away (even if the bike lanes leave a little to be desired in places). Over the years I’ve done WordPress development for loads of small agencies, charities and individuals in the city. If you are looking for a WordPress developer in Bristol who knows his stuff and knows how to turn creative ideas into tangible products, then get in touch.
